Seams to Unravel

lately, I am

untangling threads
and gathering myself
following each line
of thought
until it frays
into emptiness
unpicking old seams
and ironing out my misplaced
darts and outgrown hems
I am picking up
the threads of my old life
and I am tying on my new
strings, in new colours
I am more than
simply repairing me
I am learning new patterns
adding pockets
for new tools
and stitch by stitch
I am embroidering
new memories
into the wrinkled fabric
of my mind
